Brightmusic Chamber Ensemble Sonata Evening on Performance Oklahoma

The Brightmusic Society of Oklahoma presented their second series of concerts on Monday, November 4th at All Soul's Episcopal Church and on Tuesday, November 5th at St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral. The programs, elegantly titled "Sonata Evening" offered five contrasting duo sonatas featuring flute, oboe, and violin with piano by Camille Saint-Saëns, Robert Schumann, Francis Poulenc, Ludwig van Beethoven and Sergei Prokofiev. Music for one becomes chamber with two and this program offers a beautiful and thoughtful profile of the development of the duo sonata form in the hands of several of the most iconic and individual composers writing in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Tune in at 8 pm on Saturday, December 7th on Classical 88.7 Tulsa!
