Norman, OK – Oklahoma soldiers to return from Afghanistan

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Gov. Mary Fallin will be on hand as a group of Oklahoma National Guard soldiers return from a deployment in Afghanistan.

Officials say about 30 members of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team are set to arrive at the Norman Armed Forces Reserve Center about 10 a.m. Friday.

Nearly 2,200 Oklahoma Army National Guard members from the 45th deployed to Afghanistan in June and are currently in various stages of returning home.

Officials say an additional 800 Oklahoma Guard members from the 45th deployed to Kuwait also are in the process of demobilization.
