Tahlequah, OK – Okla lawyer wants autopsy photos excluded at trial
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) The lawyer for a Tahlequah man charged with first-degree murder in a fatal shooting has asked a judge to exclude autopsy photographs of the victim.
Defense attorney Jacky Tracy filed a motion last week seeking to keep the jury from seeing the pictures, calling them "gruesome," and arguing that their use would create an unfair prejudice to his client, Kent Johnson.
The Tahlequah Daily Press reports that Johnson is scheduled to go to on trial July 25 for the September death of Johnathan Hall, who was shot in the chest. District Attorney Brian Kuester's office hadn't responded to the motion yet.
Shook is expected to make a ruling on the motion before the trial date.
