Former Councilor Eric Gomez discusses his appointment with city council members.

By KWGS News

Tulsa, OK –
The Mayor nominates former councilor Eric Gomez to the Planning Commission. That has some neighborhood groups upset.

They claim that when on the council, Gomez was not supportive of neighborhood causes. He told the council he realizes the perception is there, but feels, because of the district's make up, industrial, downtown and residential, that is a misconception.

The neighbor groups have also raised the conflict on interest flag, calling Gomez a developer. While working in real estate, Gomez says calling him a developer is like calling Councilman Bill Christiansen Aviation business, "American Airlines".

The appointment will be voted on during the council's May 13th meeting.
