Ann Schein on Performance Oklahoma

"Everything was so dazzlingly played, so musically right that all one could do was sit back in gasping admiration” writes The New York Times about pianist Ann Schein. She has been thrilling audiences since her sensational first recordings for Kapp Records and her highly acclaimed Carnegie Hall debut. Her career has earned her praise in major American and European music centers in recitals and with many of the great conductors and orchestras of our time and in more than 50 countries around the world.

On the home page of Ann Schein’s relatively new website she writes this: This is my story up to this moment, “A Life in Review” it might be entitled, in celebration of 60 years of making music, performing and communicating with audiences across the world. This might well be a fitting title for her concert program which features works that reflect a lifetime of study and performance. Presented by the University of Central Oklahoma’s College of Fine Arts and Design on Saturday, February 18th of 2012, the program features works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Maurice Ravel, Claude Debussy, Franz Liszt, Frederic Chopin and Sergei Rachmaninov.

It’s Ann Schein in conversation and concert on Performance Oklahoma this week. Tune in at 8pm, Saturday, May 18, on Classical 88.7-1!
