American Airlines Slapped with Record Setting Fine

Dallas, Texas – American Airlines is hit with a 24-million dollar fine.
The FAA claims American Airlines performed poor maintenance of its' airplanes, causing thousands of delayed and cancelled flights.
The maintenance in question is wiring inside the wheel wells. The federal agency says the wiring problems could have led to fires and explosions.
24-million dollars is the largest safety penalty ever levied by the FAA.
American says they will challenge the fine.
