Oklahoma City, OK – DA calls political attack ad 'completely false'

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A Democratic district attorney is defending a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor who was the target of an attack ad that links him to a political corruption probe.

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater said Monday the allegations in the ad are "completely false and without any basis in fact."

Democratic state Sen. Kenneth Corn's campaign began airing the ad last week. It links Corn's opponent Republican state Sen. Todd Lamb to a political corruption investigation by Prater's office.

Prater has acknowledged he's investigating whether a deal was made to create a state job for a state senator in exchange for her agreement not to seek re-election. But he says Lamb has never been a target of the probe.
