8 Deaths Blamed on Wintry Storm in Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The number of fatalities in Oklahoma blamed has risen to at least eight.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Keli Cain said Monday that the deaths include a 5-year-old boy who died in a rollover accident in Muskogee and a 6-year-old boy who died after falling through ice in a creek in Tulsa. A 77-year-old woman from Altus died from hypothermia.

An 18-year-old Tulsa man and an 85-year-old Oklahoma City man died in separate traffic accidents. An unidentified adult male died from a propane stove fire in Westville, while a 56-year-old man died in a Tulsa home fire. A 43-year-old man died in Oklahoma City but the cause of his death is pending.
