Henryetta, OK – Seventh person dies in Oklahoma turnpike wreck

HENRYETTA, Okla. (AP) A head-on collision that killed six people in eastern Oklahoma earlier this month has claimed another life.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 29-year-old Jorge Salas Jr. died June 11 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa.

Salas was riding in a vehicle driven by his father, Jorge Salas Sr., June 4 when the vehicle collided with another vehicle that was pulling a travel trailer on the Indian Nation Turnpike near Henryetta.

The crash killed Salas' wife, Sabrina; her children, Anali and Malik; 14-year-old Vanessa Miller and Luis Duralopez, all of whom were riding in his father's vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, Russel Bowden, also died.

Troopers say all but Salas and his father were ejected from the vehicle on impact, and none had on seatbelts.
