OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma State Board of Education has named six schools in the state as recipients of Reward School grants.

Reward schools are those identified by the state Department of Education as high achieving in all state assessments or showing high progress in the reading and math abilities of students. The schools will now partner and share with another school that has been identified as being in need of improvement.

The recipients are Earl Harris Elementary School in Bethany; Adair High School; Ripley Elementary School; Kingfisher High School; Ryal Public School; and Edmond Memorial High School.

The grant amounts are $47,000 the Adair, Ripley and Ryal Schools; $71,000 for Earl Harris and Kingfisher schools; and $117,000 for Edmond Memorial.
