3 Dead after Multi-car Collision in Eastern Oklahoma

File Photo

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) — Authorities in eastern Oklahoma say three people are dead following a multi-car collision.

The Muskogee Police Department identified the victims as 74-year-old Michael Billings, 77-year-old Loretta Goodwin and 21-year-old Jacob Roberts.

Police say a medical condition suffered by Billings may have been a factor in the crash, but details were not released.

The Muskogee Phoenix reports that Goodwin was driving a car that had stopped at a red light. Roberts was a passenger. Two other vehicles in front of the car were also stopped.

A car driven by Billings collided with the rear of Goodwin's car, which then struck the vehicle in front of it. Authorities say the impact of the initial collision destroyed the rear end of Goodwin's car.
