2 Small Earthquakes Recorded North of Edmond

File photo

EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — The U.S. Geological Survey has recorded two small earthquakes between Edmond and Guthrie near the Oklahoma-Logan County line.

The USGS says a preliminary 3.8 magnitude quake was recorded at noon Sunday and preliminary 2.9 magnitude quake was recorded in the same area 23 minutes later.

Authorities say no injury or damage was reported.

Geologists say earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans and that damage is not likely in earthquakes below magnitude 4.0.
