Tulsa, OK – University of Tulsa President Steadman Upham and University of Oklahoma President David Boren today announced their intention to establish a joint four-year community medical education program in Tulsa. The state's flagship private and public universities are creating the program to help address Oklahoma's low health status, low health systems performance and physician shortage.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The state's largest state workers organization says it agrees with Republican state Senate leaders who are calling for a special session of the Legislature in December.
The Oklahoma Public Employees Association said Monday declining revenues are forcing many state employees to face furloughs, reductions-in-force and voluntary buyouts and that immediate action is needed.
Tulsa, OK – Thousands filled the O-R-U Mabee Center to remember the Reverend Billy Joe Daugherty. Daugherty was remembered by O-R-U Board Chair Mart Green, who called him "an evangelist at heart"
The charismatic founder of the Victory Christian Center was remembered by O-R-U founder Oral Roberts. Roberts, in a pre-recorded statement said Daugherty "reached out with his soul. His soul seemed to have hands and his hands seemed to be filled with love."
Daugherty died on November 20th. Doctors diagnosed him with cancer during the summer. He was 57.
Tulsa, OK – Mayor Kathy Taylor commissioned the project to preserve the history of the City of Tulsa in an exhibit that includes recorded interviews with mayors of Tulsa and a display of portraits and bio-graphical information of all 39 mayors, including Mayor-Elect Dewey Bartlett.
The photographs were previously framed and displayed in a conference room in the former City Hall building at the Civic Center Plaza. The library also will feature historic documents, such as Tulsa's first charter and the original plans for the Tulsa highway system.
