Palin Endorses Fallin

Oklahoma City, OK – Sarah Palin is endorsing Republican Rep. Mary Fallin in the race for Oklahoma governor. The former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate endorsed Fallin and two female congressional candidates yesterday on her Facebook page, saying they were "liberty loving 'Mama Grizzlies.'"

Sexual orientation added to city policy

Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa city council also voted to include sexual orientation to the city's non-discrimination policy.
The list of protected classes, along with sexual orientation, now includes race, color, sex, religion. Political beliefs, national origin, age, ancestry and disability.

Drug Bust

Hobart, Okla. – HOBART, Okla. (AP) Kiowa County authorities have discovered and destroyed thousands of marijuana plants possibly worth up to $3.5 million.

Sheriff Russ Tate says a tip officials received on Sunday led them to 7,700 plants in several patches between Mountain View and Carnegie in southwestern Oklahoma. Tate declined to reveal the exact location.

No arrests have been made.

U.S. Cellular moves jobs

Tulsa, Okla. – TULSA, Okla. (AP) U.S. Cellular has announced plans to move 160 jobs from its call center in Tulsa to Wisconsin and Texas while adding 100 jobs in Tulsa.

The company said in a statement Wednesday that the jobs being moved will go to a call center in Madison, Wis., and to a contract partner in Houston. The statement said the jobs being moved will result in lower costs.

The company says it will use the space in the call center to add 100 jobs to its Tulsa Customer Care Center.
