Oklahoma City, OK – Henry departs on 6-day Boston trip

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Gov. Brad Henry is in Boston for the annual meeting of the National Governors Association and a separate meeting of the newly created Council of Governors.

Henry spokesman Paul Sund says the governor will return to Oklahoma on Tuesday.

Henry is attending the National Governors Association meeting this weekend and then will meet with the Council of Governors, a 10-member panel created earlier this year by President Obama.

Suspect Arrested

Tulsa, Ok – Tulsa Police are investigating Tulsa's latest homicide. A woman was found dead Friday morning inside the bedroom of an apartment. The crime scene is an apartment complex at 10145 East Admiral.

The discovery was made about nine o'clock in the morning. Police had to call for additional officers because of a large crowd that gathered at the scene.

Oklahoma City, OK – Teen drowns in Oklahoma floodwaters

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Authorities say a teenager drowned after being swept away during flash flooding in Oklahoma, which has been pounded in recent days by heavy rain.

Oklahoma Medical Examiner's office spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard said a teenage girl was playing with friends Thursday around a drainage ditch near Durant in Bryan County when 4-foot deep water carried her off. Ballard didn't have the girl's exact age or name, but said her friends got out safely.

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Republican gubernatorial candidate and U.S. Rep. Mary Fallin says she doesn't support further cuts to the state's income tax rate until Oklahoma's economy has rebounded. Speaking after a GOP forum in Enid last night, Fallin said she sees no need to repeal a scheduled one-quarter percent reduction in the income tax slated to take effect once state revenue grows by more than 4 percent over the previous year.

Concho, OK – Impeachment trial for Okla. tribal governor starts

CONCHO, Okla. (AP) The governor of the Cheyenne-Arapaho American Indian tribe has started her defense during her impeachment trial.

Gov. Janice Boswell arrived 10 minutes late Thursday on the first day of the trial that's being held before the eight-member tribal legislature and more than 30 tribal members.

Police Searching for Missing Man

Tulsa, OK –

The Tulsa Police Department is requesting assistance locating Wilburn Jenkins, a missing elderly person who suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Jenkins is described as a white male, 77 years-old, 5'06" tall, weighing 190 pounds, with a grey moustache, grey hair on the sides of his head and balding on top, He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap with an embroidered logo (possibly a flag), white shirt, blue jeans, and brown loafers. He has a tattoo on his upper-left arm of the name "Doris."

Mixed Sales Tax Report

Tulsa, OK – The City of Tulsa's sales tax collections for mid May to mid June, as reported by the Oklahoma Tax Commission, are slightly below last year's totals, but higher than predicted.

Actual tax received is $16,349,927, or .90 percent below the $16,498,273 collected during the same period last year. The budget estimate for the period was $15,607,000.
