Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Police say two of the four people whose bodies were found in a burning home in Oklahoma City were pregnant and the owner of a Nevada brothel featured in an HBO reality series says he fears one of those pregnant women was his employee.

Authorities had earlier said one of the four victims was a pregnant woman. Police have not released identities or cause of death for those killed.

Tulsa, OK – The economic news is not good for the Tulsa Public Schools. The monthly distribution from the state was over one million dollars short according to school superintendent Doctor Keith Ballard. Based on a meeting he had yesterday in Oklahoma City, he now fears a worst-case budget scenario will play-out.
Figures from the state indicate an 8-to-10 million dollar shortfall is not out of the question.

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The body of a soldier who was among the 13 people killed during a shooting rampage at Fort Hood in Texas last week has been returned to Oklahoma.

A plane carrying Spec. Jason Dean Hunt landed at the Air National Guard Base at Will Rogers World Airport around 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

About 20 minutes later, four police officers on motorcycles emerged, followed by a hearse, a funeral home limousine and government vehicles.

Tulsa, OK – 7 inducted into Oklahoma Hall of Fame

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Hall of Fame has added seven new members, including a posthumous honor for basketball star and musician Wayman Tisdale. Tisdale died earlier this year at age 44.

Also inducted Thursday by the Oklahoma Heritage Association were OU football great Lee Roy Selmon, Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice Steven W. Taylor and Oklahoma State University President Burns Hargis.

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Oklahoma doctor indicted by grand jury

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A federal grand jury in Louisiana has indicted an Oklahoma doctor on 48 counts alleging he defrauded a government program, insurance companies and other entities out of $1.3 million.

The indictment against Dr. Gregory Khoury, unsealed on Thursday, accused him of fraudulently submitting claims for patients who weren't physically present in his office. Medicare and Blue Cross and Blue Shield were among those billed.

Tulsa, OK – Dewey Bartlett now has an office at Tulsa's City Hall. Mayor Taylor has made space available for the Mayor-elect to have a transition office. The space is across the hallway from Taylor's office on the 15th floor of the One-Technology Center.

The two leaders held a joint news conference in the city board/conference room. Taylor has invited Bartlett to take part in all city meetings and policy decisions. Bartlett will take office on December 7th.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) A Cargill Inc. executive says he didn't check to see if company farmers were following an environmental handbook he helped draft in 2002 warning them not to spread too much chicken manure on their land.

Tulsa, OK – 7 more Oklahomans die from swine flu complications

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State health officials say seven more Oklahomans have died from complications of the swine flu.

The state Health Department says the deaths include two women and a boy from Tulsa county, a man and a woman from Oklahoma County, a boy in Garfield County and a man from Kay County.

There are now 28 deaths in the state attributed to complications from the swine flu which is also known as the H1N1 virus.

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa housing voucher list to close

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Tulsa Housing Authority is preparing to close a long waiting list for a program that helps low-income people pay for housing.

Applications will be accepted through Friday on the waiting list for Section 8 vouchers.

There are more than 7,000 families on the list. The program is at capacity with more than 4,500 vouchers issued.
