Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council drops its discussion on business cards for the Mayor's wife. Victoria Bartlett does a considerable amount of volunteer work for the City and was given business cards with the city seal. That prompted an ethics complaint. The Mayor reimbursed the city for the $16 the cards cost.
Today's council agenda included an item that would permit the Mayor's wife to have the cards.
Broken Arrow, OK – The state auditor's office meets today with members of the Broken Arrow School Board. The meetings will be in two groups so that there is no quorum and the meeting is not a violation of the open meetings law. The topic will be that leaked audit report critical of the school district and its record keeping. At issue is the district's dealing with a Broken Arrow heating and cooling contractor.
Tulsa, Okla. – The Health Department has not escaped those budget squeezes so common these days. Flu shots, which last year were free, this season will cost $25.
"Children 18 years of age and younger that don't have health insurance that will pay for the vaccine will not be charged," said Janice Sheehan, Manager of Communicable Disease Control for the Tulsa Health Department. "Also Medicare patients that don't have an HMO or the secondary insurance won't be charged either."
