Council: Not Finished Yet

Tulsa, OK – The City Council's probe into the Mayor's office may not be finished after all.

On tomorrow's city council agenda is a resolution waiving a conflict of interest in the city attorney's office. That would allow her to appoint a special prosecutor to review the case against Mayor Bartlett and his chief of staff Terry Simonson. They have been accused of misleading the council over the use of a federal grant to re-hire police officers.

Airmen Return

Oklahoma City, OK – Estimated 100 airmen to return to Tinker AFB

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Officials at Tinker Air Force Base are preparing to welcome home about 100 airmen from a four-month deployment to Southwest Asia.

The base said in a news release that the airmen with the 552nd Air Control Wing are to arrive at the base about 11:15 a.m. Monday.

Girl Attacked By Dog

Tulsa, OK – A two-year-old Tulsa girl is hospitalized after being attacked by a Pit Bull dog Sunday afternoon. Police and EMSA officials say the attack happened at an apartment complex near 17th and South Memorial.

The child was rushed to the hospital and is listed in serious condition at St-Francis. The fate of the dog is unknown.

Oil and Gas Industry

Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma oil and gas industry struggled in 2009

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A state report suggests that Oklahoma's oil and gas industry struggled in 2009.

According to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission's annual report on oil and gas activity, production numbers were about the same as other years but intent-to-drill applications tumbled from 6,220 in 2008 to 2,500 last year. Observers say such applications are a good way to gauge the state of the industry.

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) September was warmer than average across Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma Climatological Survey reported that the statewide average temperature last month was 74.5 degrees, 2.1 degrees above normal.

The survey also reported that the statewide average rainfall of 3.99 inches is 0.18 inches below average and the 36th wettest on record, even though much of the state was dry.
