Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council faces a busy agenda on Tuesday morning. The Council will get an update on the Tulsa Development Authority's efforts to sell the old city hall to Brickhugger, LLC. The company wants to turn the now vacant building into a downtown hotel.
The Council has requested a briefing on the transition of the Tulsa Zoo to a private management firm. Tulsa Zoo Friends has become Tulsa Zoo Management, Inc. Former Councilor and Deputy Mayor Tom Baker has been appointed to lead the transition.
Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) A former assistant district attorney who oversaw drug cases is disputing allegations by a Tulsa officer charged in a corruption case. Mickey Hawkins says he never gave Tulsa police blanket permission to do as they pleased regarding informants, as claimed by officer Jeff Henderson.

Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) The body of a woman has been found inside a trash container in the parking lot of a north Tulsa church. She has been identified as 18-year-old Samita Hall. She had been missing since August 2nd. A man performing maintenance work outside the church building smelled a foul odor and noticed the rolling trash container. Tulsa police have arrested 19-year-old Brandon Hall.
Oklahoma City, OK – Okla. Democrat hopes to pin GOP hopefuls to right
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Democratic Party's nominee for a congressional seat in central Oklahoma hopes the two remaining Republicans remain in a race to the right.
Billy Coyle won the Democratic nomination in Oklahoma's 5th District on July 27 and two independents are also in the race. Former Rep. Kevin Calvey of Oklahoma City and longtime Christian youth camp director James Lankford face each other Aug. 24 to settle a seven-man Republican primary.
Weleetka, OK – Okla environmental officials issue boil advisory
WELEETKA, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has issued a mandatory boil advisory for Weleetka, telling officials to inform residents that the Okfuskee County town's drinking water is unsafe for human consumption.
Tulsa, OK – A collpasing thunderstorm blew itself out over south Tulsa early Saturday morning. The storm hit with 65-to-75 mile per hour winds. As the storm was decaying a downdraft of warm air blew through the area from Memorial to 169 along 71st Street.
The Sonic Drive-in lost its sign, as did a portion of Ultimate Electronics. Freckles also reported damage. The wind is also blamed for damage to privacy fences in the residential areas.
Tahlequah, OK – Cherokee marshal's evidence room audited by BIA
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) A Bureau of Indian Affairs agent says the federal agency is auditing the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service's evidence room at the request of the tribe.
BIA Special Agent Mike McCoy says the audit has been going on for about two weeks. He says the BIA's professional standards division is performing the audit at the request of the Marshal Service but that he does not know how long it will take. He says no exit interview has been conducted.
