State Gets 1st Taste of Winter

Texas and Cimirron Counties are the western most counties in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Department of Transportation crews in the Panhandle report slick and snow packed roads in Texas and Cimarron Counties. ODOT crews are out clearing and sanding/salting bridges and roadways as needed. While there are currently no roads closed, conditions are poor and motorists are asked to drive cautiously.

Store to Reopen in North Tulsa

The store has been closed since Albertson's left Oklahoma several years ago.

Tulsa, OK – Mayor Kathy Taylor today applauded the efforts of a business development team, including members of the City's staff and the local community, who worked to attract a new grocery store to the former Albertons location at Pine Street and Peoria Avenue. Local businessman and owner Antonio Perez announced today that Gateway Market is set to open in mid-January.

Rainy Day Fund

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) With Oklahoma facing budget cuts because of the economic downturn the governor and legislative leaders have different ideas on use of the state's Rainy Day Fund.

The budget is on a pace that would be about $1 billion short of estimates and state agencies have already been ordered to cut budgets by 5 percent.

The Rainy Day Fund has about $600 million in it and Gov. Brad Henry prefers using most of that money to get through this fiscal year.

Ben was a powerful force in the evolution of TU, having served the university in numerous capacities for nearly eight decades. He truly has been a statesman for the university, and his legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those he influenced as a teacher and mentor.

Oklahoma City, OK – DPS reinstates 2 troopers accused of force

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has reinstated two state troopers who were placed on administrative leave following allegations of excessive force.

An internal investigation found that the use of force by Troopers Daniel Martin and Tommy Allen was not excessive.

Martin earlier this year was suspended after being accused of using excessive force during a scuffle with a paramedic that was caught on video.
