Forclosure Action: River Walk

Gail Fair-Tucker is named receiver for River Walk.

Tulsa, OK – A Texas bank files foreclosure action against the owner of the Jenks River Walk. The action was filed in Tulsa District Court by the American Bank of Texas. The action names RWC Management and its principal Jerry Gordon.

Judge Rebecca Nightingale has named Tulsa property manager Gail Fair-Tucker to act as the receiver while the property is being foreclosed.

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa City Councilor Bill Christiansen talks trash!

With a new trash hauling agreement on the horizon, Christiansen wonders in the Trash Board is still needed.

One potential problem with eliminating the board; the city proper is prohibited by law from entering into multi-year contracts. Special Trusts, like the trash board, are not.

Christiansen asked the Council Attorney to research the matter.

Tax Cut Ahead

Oklahoma City, OK – Despite a half-billion dollar funding hole in Oklahoma, income tax rates will drop next year by a quarter of one-percent. Governor Fallin says statewide revenue growth was enough to trigger a mandated tax cut.

The Governor is hopefully residents will spend the tax savings; thereby boosting the economy.

The rate will drop from 5.5% to 5.25% effective next January.

Officer Hurt

Tulsa, OK – A Tulsa Police officer is recovering after being hit by a car overnight.

It happened around 2:15 this morning near 27th and South Peoria. The officer was out of his squad car, conducting a traffic stop when another car whizzed by. The officer was hit by the car's side mirror. He was not seriously injured.

The car that struck the officer did not stop.

Pawhuska, OK – High court seeks brief in Okla tribe's lawsuit

PAWHUSKA, Okla. (AP) The U.S. Supreme Court has invited the Acting Solicitor General to file a brief expressing the views of the United States as it decides whether to hear an appeal from the Osage Nation regarding its lawsuit against the Oklahoma Tax Commission.

Council and City Attorney Disagree

Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council tangles with acting City Attorney David Pauling. The Council has already passed a resolution of no-confidence in Pauling's skills.

He told the council only the Mayor had the right to issue budget amendments. Councilor G-T Bynum called that "outrageous".

Councilors Rick Westcott and Jack Henderson both publicly asked what they are to do, since they don't trust Pauling

Fall Out from Mosque Meeting

Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Police Chief Chuck Jordan is surprised by all the attention over what he calls a community policing event. He says having officers attend an officer appreciation event at an Islamic Mosque is no different than having one at a Methodist Church.

A police Captain has been reassigned after refusing to order his officers attend the event.

The Tulsa Police Internal Affairs Division will review the matter.
