Tulsa, OK – An altercation last night at south Tulsa apartment complex has left one man dead. It happened just before ten last night at the Regency Point apartments on 71st between Yale and Sheridan. The argument turned into a shoot out in the parking lot. Five people are in custody this morning.
Tulsa, OK – American Airlines says weekend nonstop service between Tulsa and Miami International Airport will end Feb. 6. A spokesman says the flights were offered as a means to bring aircraft to Tulsa for periodic maintenance, but the maintenance schedule has changed.
Jones, OK – JONES, Okla. (AP) A small earthquake has struck near Jones in central Oklahoma. The U.S. Geological Survey and the Oklahoma Geological Survey say the quake was recorded at 7:37 p.m. yesterday about 20 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. No damage or injuries have been reported.
Tulsa, OK – The OK-Mozart Festival presents the Tulsa Public Schools with a check for music education. The presentation was made today at the Lewis and Clark Middle School by festival director Shane Jewell.
The check was for $15,000 as part of the "No Child Clef behind program.That's "Clef" as in treble-clef . Jewell says arts education is important to see that our children receive a well-rounded education.
Tulsa, OK – Sentenced to die, Oklahoma death row inmate Billy Don Alverson will go to the pardon and parole board to seek clemency. He was sentenced for the 1995 murder of a Quick Trip Clerk at 244-and South Garnett.
Clerk Richard Yost was bound with duct tape and beaten to death with a metal baseball bat. His widow is arguing against any clemency in the case.
Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma State University Medical Center will demolish a building on its Tulsa campus today as part of a two-year plan for campus renovations. The land will eventually become the main entrance to the medical center, with trees, landscaping and parking.
Oklahoma City, OK – MCLOUD, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Geological Survey says a magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck near McLoud on Saturday night. Research scientist Amie Gibson says about 30 people reported feeling the temblor but that no injuries or damage have been reported.
