Wynnewood, OK – There are no initial reports of injuries as an explosion shakes a gasoline refinery near Wynnewood in South Central Oklahoma. Garvin County officials say the blast happened just before daybreak. The facility refines gasoline among other products. The refinery employs about 200-people in a town of less than 3,000.
There have been several explosions and fires at the plant in the past, including one several years ago started by lightning.
Norman,OK – NORMAN, Okla. (AP) Officials say a man, two children and a firefighter were burned in an apartment fire Christmas morning on the southeast side of Norman. The man, who is in his mid-20s, had second-degree burns to his head and back while the youngsters, ages seven and two, had minor burns. The firefighter suffered second-degree steam burns to his face and neck.
Washington, D.C. – Republican senator offers dire view of economy
WASHINGTON (AP) Republican Sen. Tom Coburn says confidence in the country's economy and currency will be "undermined significantly" in the next several years if the government doesn't find a way to cut federal spending.
Coburn says the U.S. must begin to chip away at the country's huge debt and slash hundreds of billions from the budget in wasteful spending or face the kind of severe fiscal crisis that has plagued Ireland and Greece.
Tulsa, OK – Tulsa Police find the lifeless body of a homeless man near downtown Tulsa. The discovery was made early Christmas morning to the 100-block of North Cheyenne Avenue. It is there that officers find 51-year-old Leon Smith. Police say Smith died from a severe beating with a blunt object, possibly a piece of pipe.
Oklahoma City, OK – Terrill says he is innocent of bribery charge
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State Rep. Randy Terrill says he is innocent of a bribery charge filed against him this week and says the count is politically motivated.
Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater on Wednesday charged Terrill with offering former state Sen. Debbe Leftwich an $80,000 a year state job to not run for re-election. Leftwich is charged with soliciting or accepting the bribe.

Tulsa, oK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) Tulsa County prosecutors are appealing a judge's decision not to order a trial for a woman accused of killing her infant son by tying a blanket around his head to keep a pacifier in his mouth.
Janette Mickelboro was charged with first-degree murder in the Aug. 20 death of 3-month-old Hunter Warner. Special Judge Allen Klein determined that the state didn't present enough evidence to bind Mickelboro over for trial on a first-degree murder count. A hearing is set for Jan. 11.
