Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Republican House Speaker Kris Steele says he will form a special committee to investigate Republican state Rep. Randy Terrill, who has been charged with felony bribery.
Steele said Friday the eight-member committee will be bipartisan and will determine if Terrill misused or abused his office.
Tulsa, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma health officials say another death associated with influenza has been reported.
The Oklahoma State Health Department said Thursday the fourth flu death reported since Sept. 1 was a Logan County resident in the 25-49 year age range. Health officials say 304 flu-related hospitalizations have been reported to the agency and 90 of those came between Jan. 16 and Saturday.
Several schools across the state also canceled classes or postponed activities because of high absences due to the flu.
Tulsa, OK – Ductmate, the largest heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) accessories manufacturer in North America, announced today it has chosen Tulsa for its new distribution warehouse location. Ductmate has leased a 61,520-square-foot facility located on 9.4 acres at 3248 N. Sheridan with a five-year plan to expand its Tulsa operation to include manufacturing. The privately owned company moved into the new site Jan. 3 and began operations this week.
Tulsa, OK – 181 guns will be on the audition block tomorrow in Tulsa County. Sheriff Stanley Glanz is auction off the weapons in as-is condition. This is not the first time the sheriff has auctioned off the unclaimed property.

Tulsa, OK – The Tulsa City Council passes a resolution last night urging the back pay increases to be re-instated to police officers. City Councilor Bill Christiansen says the money is there,because of department attrition.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Police say a man who robbed a south Tulsa bank apologized before fleeing with the loot.
Officers say the man entered the Arvest Bank on south Utica Avenue about 4:40 p.m. Thursday, pulled out a small gun and demanded money from a teller. They say the many was threatening then became apologetic.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Oklahoma school Superintendent Janet Barresi's first meeting with the state board of education turned testy with one board member calling her a "dictator" and the board refusing to approve the hiring of 3 employees she requested.
The board met Thursday and refused Barresi's request to hire Jennifer Carter as her chief of staff, Damon Gardenhire as communications director and Jill Geiger as director of finance.
