OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma's winter wheat harvest may yield less than half the amount taken in last year.
Oklahoma Wheat Commission executive director Mike Schulte says the harvest is about 98 percent complete and that the U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates about 73.5 million bushels will be harvested.
Schulte says the 2008 harvest yielded about 166.5 million bushels, but last year was considered to be a bumper crop.
Tulsa, OK – Judge agrees to stop evidence exchange
TULSA, Okla. (AP) The exchange of evidence in a lawsuit against the Oklahoma Department of Human Services will stop until an appeal of the decision to grant class-action status to the case has been resolved.
U.S. District Judge Gregory Frizzell cited "the potentially unnecessary expense of public resources" in agreeing to stop the discovery process.
Tulsa, Ok – Former Beatle Paul McCartney has added two more shows to his Summer jaunt in the US. McCartney and his band now play in Tulsa on Monday, August 17th. He will leave Tulsa to travel to Dallas on the 19th.
It is the lead-off to the BOK Center's first anniversary. This is the only arena in which he is performing.
Tulsa, Ok – Inner Dispersal Loop Closure begins on Monday.
The single-largest project ever awarded in the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's history is underway. This $75 million stimulus-funded project will rebuild the north and west legs of Tulsa's Inner Dispersal Loop (includes portions of I-244, US-412, US-64 and SH-51), replace the decks on 44 bridges on the north and west legs, and will repair the surface on portions of the east and south legs.
